  • THIS evening Thursday, February 11 there will be a Taize service at 8pm at Christchurch. All are welcome.
  • TETBURY’S own Eileen Hodgson, who currently holds the record for the fastest woman runner around Woodchester Park, will be running again for Christian Aid in the London Marathon.

  • AT THE recent Tetbury flower and summer show AGM chairman Lance Vick gave his report. He thanked all the hard work of all the committee members, and gave special thanks to Ken White who tirelessly works on funding and gaining interesting new attractions.

He also thanked Susan and Keith Leaver for all their work on the dog show. Unfortunately both have decided to step down from this and Trudi and Jim Eldridge will be continuing to run this much-loved part of the day’s extravaganza.

There was also the election of officers: Lance Vick (chairman), Len Smith (vice-chairman), Sheila Poole (treasurer), Judith Randall (secretary).

The meeting finished with a member of the public standing and asking everyone there to give Lance and his committee a standing ovation for what is always the highlight of Tetbury’s summer.

  • THE TV show Come Dine With Me is coming to our area. They are looking for a couple to host a dinner party.

  • THE Tetbury tea dance proved an amazing success and will now become a regular feature in the Tetbury calendar as locals and visitors alike had a wonderful time.

The date for your diary for the next dance will be Saturday, March 5 at the Dolphins Hall, New Church Street, Tetbury. The entrance will be £5 per person including refreshments, and will be from 2pm- 4pm.

All money raised will be going to help refurbish the building, Sandra wants to thank Maureen Clarke for assisting. The entertainment was provided by time 2 dance.

Sandra would also like to thank everyone who attended that made it such an enjoyable fun day and waltz in the park.

Sandra was also thrilled with the fact they made £120 profit from the first Tea Dance.So do take a quick step to the next dance.

  • THE next opportunity to drop in and have a chat with a local police officer will be on Wednesday, February 17 from 1-2pm at the Old Courthouse, 63 Long Street, Tetbury.

Known to many as the home of the Police Museum and of course Tetbury Town Council. These are always a perfect opportunity for either a formal or informal chat with a local friendly officer.
