  • POOLE Keynes village hall is showing the film A walk in the woods starring Robert Redford, Emma Thompson and Nick Nolte.

Doors open at 7.30pm for refreshments with the film commencing at 8pm.

£3.50 for guests and as seating is limited please ring Judith on 770301.

  • THIS Saturday the inviting aroma of bacon will be coming from Kemble village hall when a breakfast morning will be held from 8am until 10.30am. Everyone welcome.

Tea, coffee, juice, croissants and jam, pain au chocolat, sausage and bacon rolls and homemade pancakes all served by the ladies of the local Women’s Institute.

  • MESSY Church is on Sunday in Kemble school from 3.30pm. Fun including pancake races.
  • SUNDAY services will be at 9.30am in Kemble – Holy Communion and at 11am in Poole Keynes – a family service and in Somerford Keynes – morning prayer.

On Ash Wednesday a Benefice ‘Ashing’ Service will be held in Kemble church the start of Lent at 7.30pm.

A new Lent course is based on the Oscar-winning film The Theory of Everything.

This course deals with struggles of reason versus faith, the romantic versus the pragmatic, success and failure, the complication of relationships under pressure and seeking understanding versus living with mystery. The evening will be on Wednesdays at The Rectory Coates or in Kemble House at 8pm.

  • IF YOU would like to join the WI to Clean for the Queen, a campaign launched to clean up Britain in time for Her Majesty’s The Queen’s 90th birthday then let Pat know on 770385.

We would like to clean the street signs/road directions etc. Others could perhaps pick up litter around the villages of Kemble and Ewen.

  • INTERESTED in trying the art of bell ringing then come along to Kemble belfry on Monday evenings from 7pm.

This week after practice ringers will retire to the local pub for a drink and chips.
