HEATED debate has erupted across the country on whether over 75s should continue to get a free TV licence.
As of 2020, the BBC will take on the £650million cost of supplying the free licences, something corporation bosses say will impact the quality of their broadcasting.
Now they are considering asking those in the age demographic to pay for their licence or contribute toward it.
Funding free licence fees for over 75s cost the government £608m in 2013-14 - about a fifth of the BBC's budget.
Many would argue that the long-standing tradition is a right for the over 75s, while others say they should have to pay like everyone else.
So, the Standard would like to know: do you think over 75s should get a free TV licence?
