  • THE insulation of the roof space at the Village Hall has resulted in the premises being far warmer than in previous winters.

Several users have commented on the improvements.

The next project to be carried out is the installation of secondary double glazing to the five large windows in the main room.

The floor will also be sanded and resealed with a hardwearing finish.

  • IT IS understood that works will commence in March of this year on the new community sports and youth hall being constructed on the Redrow site now known as Cerney on the Water.

This is a major undertaking which will take several months to finish but we must start to plan how the new facility will be utilised now.

The new building will not replace the current village hall but will be an addition to the facilities we already have in Cerney.

There are restrictions placed on what activities can be carried out in the new centre but there will be adequate space for badminton, short mat bowls etc.

It is up to members of our village to say what is needed and all suggestions can be sent either to me in my capacity of chairman of the village hall committee or to Robert Cowley, Clerk to the Parish Council.

All suggestions will be gratefully received.

  • WE ALSO need to find further activities to fully utilise the Village Hall. We do have space for regular bookings and it has been suggested that we hold ballroom dancing lessons.

Before we go further with this suggestion it would be helpful to hear from anyone interested in taking part.

Please contact me if you have any suggestions.
