WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was pulled over by a fake police car on New Year’s Eve.
It has been reported that the lone female driver was followed along Down Barn Road near Winterbourne Gunner by a car flashing its headlights and a blue light at 4.30pm on December 31.
She was pulled over by a man described as well-dressed with black hair and in his 30s, who told her she had no tax or insurance. He instructed her to sit in his car to give her details.
As the woman got suspicious and asked for identification, a ‘scuffle’ ensued but she was able to get back to her car safely.
The man returned to his car, a dark, four-door hatchback, that had a black, bald man of similar age in the passenger seat, and followed her to the nearest junction with the A345. He was last seen turning towards Salisbury.
Another car passed the incident; Wiltshire Police are asking that witness to contact DC Paula Clissold on 101 with any information.
