A MAN from Braydon who was arrested for drink-driving late on Saturday (21) night has been bailed to court and charged with driving a vehicle over the alcohol limit.
Police spotted the vehicle bump off of a kerb and followed it to observe the standard of the driving.
After following it out of Purton, past Greenhill and into Greatfields, the police observed the car run along the grass verge a number of times and veer across onto the other carriageway.
The vehicle was stopped at Flaxlands and the driver admitted having "a pint earlier", when police looked into the car and saw the glass with alcohol in inside, evidence of cannabis use, and a child's car seat.
The driver was breathalysed and blew 80mg at the roadside. The 26 year old local male was arrested and taken to Gablecross Police station.
A spokesperson for Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade Police said: “I thought it was a very good stop by my officers.
“We want to work with the community to help reduce drink drinking."
