A COTSWOLD fine artist is holding a preview to her brand new colouring book on Friday (20).

Amy Jane Adams, 29, is giving the public an opportunity to see the artwork for her new book entitled The Country House Colouring Book that features intricate artworks that showcase the wonderful world of the country house.

The artist is working with The National Trust to produce the book and has explored the length and breadth of Britain to uncover hidden countryside gems.

Each artwork explores the interior or exterior of each property, decorating each with the patterns and treasures and incorporating unique details from the history of the house and its inhabitants.

This fascinating collection promises to be an imaginative and fun way to explore Britain’s country houses and bring the history of these properties to colourful life.

Amy hopes the book will help the Trust reach a variety of different ages, as the colouring book boom continues.

“The colouring book market is the biggest seller for all the book shops right now,” she said.
“The huge trend has taken world by storm and is generating millions of pounds.

“I did 90 drawings in three months to make the book including ones of Hidcote Manor in Chipping Campden and Snowshill Manor in Broadway.”

Amy is holding a number of exhibitions with the Trust next year and the book will see its official release in April.

The book preview is taking place at Langford Village Hall in Lechlade from 7-9pm on Friday (20) and the hall will be open all weekend, 10-4pm, for people to pop in and have a chat with Amy and see the work.

There will be music from a London DJ, nibbles, wine and an introduction to the book from the author on Friday evening.
