A COFFEE shop in Fairford has won the Best Brownie award at the Cotswolds Awards 2015.

7a Coffee Shop, announced as a winner on November 9, is co-owned by Lizzie and Simon Morris, who make everything off their menu to order, while baking their now famous chocolate brownies every evening.

Lizzie, 40, said: “We were absolutely delighted to win the award. We’ll have been open for eleven years in December and I don’t we’ve ever won anything before.

“I actually didn’t know much about the awards until we got nominated. But once we were in the running we asked all our customers to vote for us.”

304 Cotswold businesses were nominated by the public in 71 categories, while 10s of 1000s voted for the winners of the online awards which celebrate Cotswold business.

Lizzie said her husband Simon, who does the baking, deserves much of the credit for the award, which has helped to generate interest in the London Street café.

“Since the announcement we’ve had a lot more interest in the café, which has been very nice. People come in specifically to try the brownies and we’ve been selling lots more of them.”
