AN entrepreneur and mother from Malmesbury has earned herself a place in the final of The Mumpreneur Awards, an annual event celebrating parents throughout the UK who manage the task of juggling business with family life.

Diana Murphy, a mother-of-one from Malmesbury, runs The Gluten Free Centre, a website and online directory supporting people with coeliac disease, wheat intolerance, gluten sensitivity or those who avoid gluten for health reasons.

The site has an extensive directory, discount codes, recipes, articles and people can leave reviews of their favourite products or restaurants.

Diana, a coeliac herself, has been shortlisted for the Pillar category, which is open to businesses designed support others in some way.

After launching The Gluten Free Centre in July 2014 on Facebook, Diana went on to create the website and now a mobile app to provide much-needed information and resources for those having to avoid gluten.

The online community grew fast and today ten thousand people visit the site every month with over 22,000 following the lively Facebook page.

The Gluten Free Centre was also recognised by ex-dragon from Dragons Den Theo Paphitis soon after its launch and won one of his Small Business Sunday awards.

Diana hopes she has what it takes to walk away with the prize at the upcoming Mumpreneur Awards.

“I’m delighted to have been recognised for my achievements in creating this resource which helps tens of thousands of people with information and  supports businesses of all kinds across the UK,” she said.

“I'm really excited to find out if I've won an award.”

As well as being shortlisted for this category, Diana is also in with a chance of winning the title of The Inspirational Business Mum 2015.

Judging is being carried out by a panel of entrepreneurs and the results will be announced at The Mumpreneur Conference and Awards, being held at the Heart of England Centre in Warwickshire on Saturday, November 14.
