THIEVES used a JCB to help them steal an ATM in a ram raid in Bourton-on-the-Water in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Between 4.15am and 4.30am, the vehicle was used to smash the front window of Bliss at Bourton on the High Street and remove the wall below the window, before thieves stole the ATM from inside the store.

The thieves, who are described by police as six to eight men with face coverings, escaped the scene in a red pick-up truck and a blue or dark coloured small hatchback car.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire Police, Chris Jackson said: “The amount of cash in the machine cannot be confirmed but could run into the thousands of pounds.”

There have been several other ram raids in the Cotswolds in the last few months but police are not linking the incidents.
