A WOMAN from Gloucester has been fined by police after lying about being dragged from her car and robbed while she was parked on a layby off the A436 at Seven Springs.
The woman told police the man approached her while she was having a cigarette break, slammed her head on the roof of her car and rifled through her pockets.
But following a police investigation into the incident, the woman, 24, admitted that she lied about the claim and has been fined for wasting police time.
Cotswolds Neighbourhood Policing Inspector, said, Karen Ellis, said: “I am pleased that we have been able to resolve this allegation and establish that this locality doesn’t represent the danger that had been feared.”

The woman also spoke about her ordeal to the Gloucestershire Echo newspaper.
She told the paper that she “couldn't get a picture of her attacker out of her head”and that she was “struggling to sleep” following the incident.
