A CONTESTANT in this year’s X Factor competition is set to take to the stage in Cirencester in her first performance in her home town.

Hannah Marie Kilminster, 30, will be performing at a Christmas-themed charity event at Dobbies Garden Centre in Cirencester on Thursday evening, with other acts such as Cirencester Male Voice Choir.

The talented singer said she is nervous and excited about performing at the event which will be attended by her family and friends.

She said: “It will be nice because there will friends and family coming to support me.”

Hannah Marie’s performance in the Boot Camp stage of the show was not shown by ITV but she expects that when the next Six Chair Challenge episode airs on Sunday at 7pm, she will be seen on tv screens.

The former Cirencester Kingshill School Pupil said taking part in the Six Chair Challenge was a nerve wracking but incredible experience.

“It was incredible sitting backstage and watching everyone is the most nerve wracking experience. I have been preparing for the Six Chair Challenge for ages now and I gave it my all.”

Producers and voice coaches from the show advised Hannah Marie to sing the Disney song she performed in the Six Chair Challenge - but it not a song Hannah Marie would normally sing.

“It is one of those that you sing in the shower,” Hannah Marie joked.

“I think the song that I would have sung (The Prayer by Celine Dion) wouldn’t have been received as well as the Disney one.”

Tickets for the charity night, which is taking place between 5pm and 9pm cost £1 and include a mince pie and mulled wine on arrival.

Tickets can be bought on the night or in advance from the store which is off the A419 Cirencester Road.
