WAITROSE in Cirencester is going to give a helping hand to those who are on their own this Christmas.

For the third year running, the store will be joining other Waitrose branches in supporting elderly, homeless and vulnerable people in the community over the festive period.

The Christmas Isolation appeal will see the retailer help support Christmas lunch events in the area for people who might otherwise be on their own on Christmas day.

Steve Gardiner Branch Manager at Waitrose said: “We are pleased to be able to offer our support to a Christmas lunch in Cirencester, and we would encourage organisers to contact us with their plans.”

As part of the campaign, hundreds of Waitrose volunteering hours are being offered for Waitrose staff  to help plan events.

Waitrose will also be asking its customers to think of people in their community who might be lonely this Christmas and make small actions that might make a big difference.
