COTSWOLD Airport will be brimming with people covered in the colours of the rainbow for a charity fun run.

Hundreds are expected to take part in the Flying Colours Run this Sunday which will see runners covered in pink, green, blue and orange paint.

Organised by Longfield (formerly Cotswold Care Hospice), the event is a fun 5km run where runners will be showered in environmentally-friendly colour every 1km.

Every year Longfield supports more than 600 patients with life-limiting illnesses, along with their families.

“We can only do this thanks to the support of the community,” said Andy Fletcher, chief executive of Longfield. “So please do come, take part and raise sponsorship you could make all the difference.”

Pauline Hinder, from Dursley attended Longfield day therapy as she recovered from surgery for cancer.

“Longfield – especially the art – has helped me redefine myself and to give myself permission to be me,” she said.

“When you have cancer you lose confidence in your body; cancer takes away your confidence in thinking of 'the future’. But I’ve stopped thinking about dying and am now getting right back on with living!

“Longfield has given me back confidence in myself, my health and the bounty awaiting me that is my future.”

Each runner will get refreshments and a white t-shirt.
