A NEW sweet shop with an old fashioned twist has opened its doors in Malmesbury.

Karen’s Sweet Treats, located just off Market Cross in the town centre, harks back to the sweet shops of old, with classic weighed-out sweets available to give customers a traditional feel.

The shop was bought up by Karen Dagostino a month ago and officially opened today.

“It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while,” said Karen. “It was just a matter of finding a space of just the right size in a good location.

“So when the shop came up I took it straight away.

“I think it should fit in with the town nicely. It’s a friendly town and it has lots of small independent shops.”

The shop offers 12 different types of ice cream as well as a massive selection of pick ‘n’ mix and luxury Belgian chocolate and truffles that should delight anyone with a sweet tooth.

“We’ve had a great response so far,” said Karen.

“We had a lot of people asking about the shop while we were getting set up.”

The shop is open Monday to Saturday and occasional Sundays when an event is taking place in the town centre.
