A TEAM of four lawyers from Gloucestershire based BPE Solicitors will take on a 520 mile bike ride organised by Extra Mile Challenges next month.

On September 17, John Workman, Tim Williams, Matt Jackson and Kathryn Johnston will be taking part in the challenge in aid of the Footprints Foundation, a charity that tackles problems facing disadvantaged and vulnerable young and elderly people, and those with significant health issues.

The Extra Mile Challenge will begin in Le Mans, France, and will take place over three days.

Each team must cycle over 170 miles per day, and the route will take them through Le Man and the Alpes Mancelles, across the famous Loire valley and over the varied terrain of north Poitiers.

This is not the first time members of staff from BPE have taken to their saddles for charity. Both John Workman and Tim Williams took part in a 900 mile bike ride across Europe in April of last year, also raising funds for Footprints.

“Another BPE cycling escapade is upon us and we’re all very excited to be taking on this challenge,” said John.

“Each of the team will be taking on different sections of the routes in a relay and we will be cycling through some of the prettiest French countryside, starting with the famous Le Mans track.

“Some of the team are looking to break personal records on their bikes while some of us will be looking to survive.

“But as always, it will be a great ride. We’re very grateful to our friends at Footprints who are will be aiding the team during the event and we are happy to be raising money for such a great cause in turn.

“I would also like to say a big thank you to our brilliant sponsors, GillFoxJames, Pro-Bolt and Brewin Dolphin, to whom we are extremely grateful for their continued help and support.”

Associate Solicitor, Matt Jackson, said: “I can’t wait to get out on the bike and experience some of the best cycling in France with such a great team.

“Although it’s a long way, it is worth it to raise money for a number of incredible charities. Our sponsors have been and continue to be extremely supportive of us here at BPE and of this event, and I’m looking forward to updating them along the way.”
