A MAN who is accused of taking part in a string of burglaries at hotels is to face trial by judge and jury.

Lee Dommett is said to have stolen wallets, purses a mobile phone and camera equipment in a string of raids last month.

It is alleged the 32-year-old first tried to burgle a dwelling at The Kings Arms Hotel on Wood Street, Old Town, Swindon, on Sunday July 12.

The next day it is said he took a purse and its contents from the dental surgery in Market Place, Cirencester.

He is then said to have stolen camera equipment from a room in The Bull Hotel at Fairford on Wednesday July 15.

It is said he then stole a Samsung mobile from the Corinium Hotel in Cirencester ten days later on Saturday July 25.

He is finally alleged to have carried out three raids on Monday, July 27, taking a wallet and cigarettes from The Mercure Hotel in South Marston, a purse and memory stick from the Highworth Hotel and again going to The Bull Hotel in Fairford, but leaving empty handed.

Dommett, of Ramsbury Avenue, Penhill, pleaded not guilty to six counts of burglary and one of attempted burglary.

Recorder Maria Lamb, sitting at Swindon Crown Court, adjourned the case to Friday, October 30 and remanded him in custody until then.
