A FINAL consultation is underway to decide how large a controversial housing development in Tetbury will be.

Planning permission for 250 homes was granted for Highfield Farm in London Road in January 2013.

Cotswold District Council had refused the application but the decision was overturned by the then secretary of state for communities and local government, Eric Pickles.

The development caused controversy when it was passed, with Tetbury town councillors saying they were “bitterly disappointed”.

The “reserved matters” of the planning application – those relating to its scale, layout and appearance - are now under review and will be decided in the coming weeks.

A spokeswoman from Tetbury Town Council (TTC) said: “TCC have reviewed the plans for the Highfield Farm site and made some suggestions to Cotswold District Council as to the number of visitor parking spaces and cycle paths on the site.”
