AN AUCTION has kicked off to sell a 200-year-old grandfather clock – all in the name of charity.
The clock built by renowned builder James John Thristle was built in Stogursey around 1820 and it is thought it could fetch up to £800.
It was donated to Sue Rider in Cirencester’s Market Place by their new assistant manager Jane Jessop who recently moved to area to take up her role but doesn’t have room for the towering six foot nine inch clock.
The auction will run for the next week, to bid for the clock or to have a look pop into the shop.
