THE seventh annual Startley Tractor Run was held at Arches Farm Paddock in Malmesbury this year, raising money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust.

91 tractors took part in the event, travelling on and off road across a route designed by Roy Webb.

Roy organises the event with his wife Marion every year and designs a different route each time to make it an interesting ride for those taking part.

Every year, lunch is given on route, and this year, Mr and Mrs Jim Webb and family from Tockenham kindly provided a hog roast. After the run, participants arrived back for tea and a raffle.

This year the event raised £4385, which will go towards keeping the Trust’s helicopter in the air.

Roy & Marion are proud to be supporting the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. They said: “There have been at least three or four local people who have benefited from the Air Ambulance’s services in the past, so it’s a cause close to our hearts.

“We’ve always thought it was a very worthwhile cause.

“Since starting the tractor run, we’ve collectively raised over £20,000 for them now.

”We would also like to say, that these tractor runs are very much a team effort and we receive a great deal of help from various people."
