TWO CIRENCESTER teenagers are enjoying the trip of a lifetime at the biggest scout event on the planet.
Frasier Bohm and Edward Flewitt have been selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Japan along with 34 Scouts from Gloucestershire and Devon.
In the next few weeks the 16-year-olds will be camping, living and working together in Japan along with 30,000 Scouts from over 200 countries.
Chief Scout Bear Grylls said: “While lots of people know that scouting is all about adventure, they often don’t realise that adult volunteers get to do just as much as our young members through their involvement.
"The World Scout Jamboree is a great example of this. Nearly 4,000 Scouts from across the UK are meeting 26,000 others from around the world and taking part in amazing adventures. That is why I love Scouting so much!”
Last Wednesday at the start of the event, Fraser and Edward, who form part of the Cotswold Explorer group, attended the opening ceremony of the Jamboree, which saw a sea of flags from various countries such as Brazil and the USA waved in harmony.
