HER Royal Highess (HRH) The Princess Royal will visit stunning Woodmancote gardens which have helped raise over £3million for a charity she supports, on Sunday June 28.

National Gardens Scheme (NGS) has been opening fine, many normally private, gardens to the public to raise money for the Carers Trust including the Moor Wood House Gardens.

As part of her visit, Princess Anne, who is president of Carers Trust, will tour the two acre country gardens which includes a wildflower meadow, walled garden, and orchard.

She will also be joined by a host of dignitaries at the event, such as Dame Janet Trotter, Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire and Mr and Mrs Henry Robinson, owners of Moor Wood.

During her visit, HRH will meet some of those who help maintain the gardens, Carers Trust network partners and carers from the area, together with representatives of other organisations supported by the NGS and some of the regional representatives.

Martin McMillan, Chairman of the National Gardens Scheme, said “It is a privilege to have Her Royal Highness visit one of the beautiful gardens in our scheme. Many thousands of people visit our gardens every year, and it must be one of the most enjoyable ways of raising money for nursing and caring charities and supporting those who need our help. We are delighted to be able to increase our support for Carers Trust this year.”

Gail Scott Spicer, Chief Executive, Carers Trust, said “NGS is one of our longest standing supporters and we are extremely grateful for the tremendous difference their support allows us to make to carers lives. There are millions of unpaid carers in this country without whom sick or disabled family or friends would not be able to manage. Our aim is to ensure their role and contribution is recognised and they have the support and services they need. We thank NGS and Mr and Mrs Robinson and everyone who opens up their garden for helping us achieve this and make a real and significant difference to the lives of many unpaid carers “.”

Members of the public will also be able to enjoy the gardens and photo opportunities on June 28 as the grounds will be open from 2 – 5pm.
