GRANDPARENTS took a trip back to school by getting stuck into gardening lessons with pupils at Prior Park Prep School in Cricklade.
Grannies and grandads of all pre-prep pupils, aged three to seven, came into school to plant wellington boots and flower pots, make wind chimes and decorate pots.
Cirencester garden centre Dobbies donated plants to the activities and community champion Annabel Lewis came along to help out. Headteacher Mark Pearce said the afternoon was a “delight”.
“The children were so excited their grandparents had come along for the day and it was a wonderful opportunity for the grandparents to see the work the children had been doing,” he said.
“Normally it’s the parents taking an active role in their child’s education but we must not forget the important role that grandparents play in supporting their children’s education too.”
