ONE-year-old Samuel Roberts was the proud winner of this year's Cirencester baby show, and mum Siobhan said she was "so chuffed" she burst into tears when the results were announced.

The unfortunate rainy weather put a bit of a damper on this year's Cirencester Hospital fete and baby show on Saturday. The outdoor fete was cancelled due to the rainy weather but the popular annual baby show still went ahead.

The winner of the 2015 baby show overall was Samuel Roberts. A former winner, he took the crown for his category last year as well when he was just one week old.

Mum Siobhan Roberts, 42, said she was so proud.

"I burst into tears and cried all over everyone," she said. "My mum has been in Cirencester Hospital for a year now as she is very poorly, so I took the winning shield up to show her in Windrush ward. She was really chuffed."

As well as the baby show, visitors still enjoyed browsing stalls inside and enjoying refreshments with friends.

It is still not known how much was raised for the hospital during the show and fete. More to follow.
