POLICE, fire crews and an ambulance all rushed to Malmesbury yesterday morning to help a driver who had flipped over his van.

Just before 8am the emergency services were told that a white Ford Transit van had left the road and flipped onto one side on Sherston Road, Malmesbury.

The road was closed by police temporarily while ambulance staff and firefighters dealt with the incident.

Firefighters from Tetbury and Chippenham arrived at the scene but were surprised to find that the man had made it out the van himself despite suffering minor injuries.

The crews made the vehicle safe before heading back to their stations and ambulance staff from the South West Ambulance Service Foundation Trust treated the man at the scene.

Police believe the van struck the kerb, causing it to flip onto its side.
