A CREATIVE teenager from Malmesbury is overjoyed that she was given the chance to compete at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show last week.

Emily Hepworth, 19, who runs mobile floristry company Persephone Violet, battled it out against 11 other hopefuls to be crowned Young Florist of the Year at the event.

And she was only four points away from gaining a medal with her design of a tree inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland books.

Although she did not receive a medal, the judges branded her as one to watch and said she was a a real ideas florist who was likely to compete in the show again.

Emily, said: “It was a fantastic experience to compete and I have taken so much from the time I was at Chelsea. For me it was so overwhelming going as this was my first year it was a lot to take in. I am looking to compete again next year I would love to scoop the title and feel that I will be more informed with the competitions structure and guidelines and therefore will excel and Improve on this year.”
