A BOY who was found hanging from a tree in Cheltenham on Thursday has died.

The 15-year-old was found hanging from a tree in Robert Burns Avenue, Cheltenham on Thursday, May 21.

The boy was cut down from the tree and taken to Bristol Children's Hospital.

He died yesterday, Sunday, evening with his family at his bedside.

The boy has been named as Adam Tharia from Cheltenham. The coroner has been informed. Police have appointed a family liaison officer and are working with Adam's family to provide support.

Although officers are not treating his death as suspicious, they are appealing for anyone with information which may be of help to contact police on 101 quoting incident 345 of May 21.

Adam's family have asked for their privacy to be respected at this very difficult time.

Speaking of Adam, they said: "Adam was a wonderful son and brother. We will always love him and will miss him so very much."
