SUNNY weather saw thousands turn out for this year's Lechlade Music Festival, with the site packed on Sunday for legendary rock band Status Quo.

This year's Lechlade Festival ran from Friday to Sunday and saw people of all ages, and from all across the country, attend for a weekend of family fun.

Local and national bands played in three different tents where visitors could also enjoy hearty local food and drink.

There were also stalls to browse, face painting, arts and crafts, story telling, various workshops, and more.

The crowds went wild on the Sunday night, when headliners Status Quo took to the stage.

Festival director Jennie Rainsford said the festival was a huge success this year.

"We had an amazing night last night – Status Quo were awesome," she said. "I stood in the crowd with my partner and fellow organiser Jaime and still couldn’t quite believe we’d got Quo live on stage in Lechlade, it was surreal.

"The 2015 festival has been a huge success, it had the best vibe yet and we’ve been showered with fantastic feedback.  Now we have clear up and then work out how to better that for 2016! We’ve yet to do the final count but we’re pretty certain we hit our 5,000 target.

"A massive thanks to all of the brilliant bands and performers and especially to the volunteers and team without whom this just couldn’t happen."
