BURGLARS smashed shop windows and stole a large quantity of cash from Chesterton Tesco – making their getaway in less than a minute.
Police were called at 3.20am this morning to a break-in at the store on Chesterton Lane, Cirencester.
The smash and grab is thought to have taken place between 3.10am and 3.20am.
The store will be closed until further notice.
A Tesco spokesman said: "The store is temporarily closed while we assist the police with their inquiries. We're sorry for any inconvenience to our customers and hope to reopen shortly."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 44 of May 18.
