A COOKBOOK put together by a nutritional expert for Wiltshire charity HEALS of Malmesbury was officially unveiled last week.

The book, titled ‘Healthy Eating And Life Skills’, includes recipes written in a way accessible to everyone, including lists of necessary kitchen equipment as well as ingredients and detailed methods.

On April 21 the new cookbook was revealed to guests including the Mayor of Malmesbury Sue Poole at a special event which included a taste of some of the recipes from the book.

The dishes were all put together by Dr Eva Detko and the production of the book was generously funded by the Malmesbury League of Friends.

The recipes in the book cater to a range of common food allergies, as well as being suitable for those with a visual impairment, learning difficulties and diabetes.

Manager of HEALS of Malmesbury Alison Cross-Jones said that the charity was very grateful to the Malmesbury League of Friends, which helped to fund the book with a £1,200 grant.

She said: “Every recipe in this book is for people with all sorts of intolerances so they are all gluten free, diabetes friendly and things like that.

“We are really proud of it and also want to thank the volunteers from the Malmesbury community who helped us.”

The new cookbook is now available to buy for £7.50 from the HEALS of Malmesbury support, advice, information and crisis centre on the High Street.

The charity will also be selling copies of two of Dr Detko’s other books, with a portion of the price being retained by HEALS.
