THE windows of a Cirencester shop were smashed in an unprovoked attack this weekend.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack on furniture shop Cotswold Living in Gosditch Street, Cirencester.

Police were called shortly after 2.30 am on Sunday, 19 April, to a report of a shop window being smashed.

There was no apparent sign of a break-in or anything taken.

A possible witness has reported seeing two people, believed to be males running away from the area, one of them wearing a dark hood.

Owner Adam Brown said: “It’s just so surprising in the middle of town.

“We work very hard and we attract visitors from all over the country.

“Nothing was even stolen, it was just criminal damage - everything in the window was damaged and off they went.”

Adam was full of praise for Anna, who stayed up through the night clearing up broken glass.

“The police woke her up in the middle of the night and scared the life out of her,” he said.

“She really went above and beyond, guess who’s buying lunch today?”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101 quoting incident number 69 of April 19.
