WATER is now returning to many areas of Cirencester, after a burst pipe left many worried that they would not be able to go to work or take their children to school this morning.
A burst water pipe in Cirencester Park at around 6.30am today meant many people in the town were left without water or with very low pressure.
Thames Water rushed to work on restoring water and apologised to all those affected. They received nearly 300 complaints this morning about the problem.
“We’re sorry to those people who have no water or low pressure this morning due to our burst pipe. We’ve started repairing it and are also re-routing water around our network to get supplies back to normal as quickly as possible," said a Thames Water spokesman earlier this morning.
At around 10.30am a spokesman confirmed the work taking place, re-routing water around the network, was having a positive effect.
Water is now returning in many areas but at lower pressure than normal in a few cases. This will continue to be the case during the next few hours.
Work to repair the pipe is ongoing.
