PARAMEDICS rushed to a Cirencester restaurant on the weekend as a woman collapsed while eating her dinner.

A 48-year-old woman collapsed after suffering a medical episode at Pizza Express in Castle Street, Cirencester on Friday night.

South Western Ambulance Service and critical care doctors were called to the scene at 8.42pm and stayed for more than an hour.

The woman was treated at the scene and then taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

The ambulance service was unable to give any personal details about the woman or what she suffered from on the night. Staff were also not able to say what condition she is in now.

Castle Street was closed off while paramedics and doctors were at the scene.
