POP star Ed Sheeran is now proudly playing a new and unique guitar for his world tour- thanks to one artist in the Cotswolds.

Teddy M, from Barnsley, has painted a guitar for the world-famous singer after he personally ordered one.

Last month the British musician jumped at the chance when Teddy M offered to loan him a green guitar to play during the tour. He liked it so much that he asked for his own.

Now Teddy has finished the new guitar, with help from New York graffiti artist Crash, who has created graffiti guitars for Eric Clapton and John Mayer.

“I delivered the guitar to Ed’s assistant at Rocket music earlier this week and will be meeting Ed at the end of his tour,” said Teddy.

“This commission has brought together the opportunity for me to collaborate with an artist who is one of my living art heroes and on a project for one of the most recognisable musicians. 15 years ago, I was in awe of the Crash designed Eric Clapton guitars and now there’s a “Crash x Teddy M” guitar for another multi-platinum world class musician - that’s pretty cool.

“I’ve worked closely with Ed’s manager and assistant and it couldn’t have been easier, they have been an absolute pleasure to deal with.

“While many celebrities expect you to give them huge discounts or even freebies, Ed has totally respected the value of our work. I’m also really looking forward to meeting him as I absolutely admire his ability to stand alone on a stage facing tens of thousands night after night with only his guitar as backing.”

Pop singer Ed Sheeran is currently making his way round the globe for his 2015 World Tour, finishing in July.
