THE nominations have been announced for what could be the most interesting Cotswold District election in 100 years.
There are 32 wards being contested across the Cotswolds and the Lib Dems and Conservatives are putting up a candidate for every seat.
UKIP are putting up a record 10 councillors, the Green Party eight and Labour just seven.
There are also three independent councillors sitting, Alan Dickinson for South Cerney village, Matt Helm for St Michaels Ward and Kevin Painter for Tetbury town.
The council is currently heavily in favour of the Conservatives, with 29 councillors compared to 11 Lib Dems and four independents.
Currently, there are no councillors from Labour, Ukip or the Green Party.
Elections will take place on May 7.
