SINGERS and bands local to the Cotswolds will come together next month to create a mini musical event in support of this year's Phoenix Festival 2015.

Organisers of the annual smash hit festival are hosting Mini Phoenix at the Marlborough Arms pub in Cirencester on Good Friday, April 3.

They have teamed up with pub landlord Giles Darby and guitar teacher John Parker to drum up support for the upcoming main festival, due to be held in the Abbey Grounds in Cirencester this August.

Mini Phoenix organiser John Parker said: "It’s a real pleasure to present the best in local talent at a great pub venue and to support such a great cause. We really want this event to be a massive success and help raise awareness and some much needed funds for the main Phoenix Festival."

Giles from the Marlborough Arms said he was delighted to help the charity festival, which is run entirely by volunteers.

"I really look forward to seeing lots of people enjoying themselves and showing their support in whatever way they can," he said.

Plucking Different and The Dirty Smooth are two of 15 performers lined up to play more than 10 hours of non-stop live music.

Guests may also be lucky enough to receive a special visit from Musical Maximus, the Phoenix Festival mascot who featured in Cirencester’s Hare Festival last year.

The Phoenix Festival team will be on hand during the event to answer any festival queries, hear ideas and accept any offers of support.
