FESTIVAL fans were treated to music and sweet treats at a Love the Phoenix event on Valentine’s Day.

This free event, held at the Bingham Gallery in Cirencester, was to get people excited about this year's Phoenix Festival and to get more people involved. The popular music festival, run entirely by volunteers, is in its third year and will be held on August 29-30.

“It was a resounding success,” said festival organiser Glen Moreman. “We met some very enthusiastic people and made some great contacts which is fantastic as without the generous support of the local community there is no Phoenix Festival. So thanks to everyone who came along.”

Singer George Montague and folk band Ethemia entertained the audience on the day while festival volunteers handed out homemade cupcakes.

Anyone who missed the event can come along to Mini-Phoenix on Friday, April 3 at the Marlborough Arms in Cirencester to find out more.
