EMPLOYERS in Cirencester are being urged to help those who have not yet secured their dream job, by attending a special event in the town.

On February 24 both businesses and the unemployed can attend a special one-on-one session at French restaurant Le Beaujolais to chat to each other about what work is available.

The event has been organised by county business group GFirst, National Star College, for students with special needs, and charity for people with learning difficulties Home Farm Trust.

Both GFirst and the National Star are looking for people over the age of 19 who have had difficulty fulfilling work ambitions since leaving full time education.

Others are being considered for similar opportunities by by Home Farm Trust.

The sessions follow a scheme launched by Le Beaujolais in Castle Street to offer work experience to disabled young people in the area, who are determined to become more independent.

Owner of Le Beaujolais Kiean Glynn said: "Our first project led to us being able to offer a 21-year-old paid work with us until the end of her final year at National Star College. We hope to secure others at a similar level, and have committed to six insight session for prospective employees throughout this year."

Consultant to Le Beaujolais Robin Thompson added: "There have been all sorts of comments in the past year about lack of work of a high standard among many work sectors involving potential employees over 19. We hope that employers and job seekers will grasp what is a great opportunity and work with us."
