TWO aircraft fuselages will be escorted by Wiltshire Police from the Cotswold Airport to Hereford.

At around 7am on February 14 two specialised transporters will carry the Boeing 747 fuselages along the A419, taking up the entire southern carriageway.

The journey will go from Cotswold Airport via the to arrive at M4 junction 15, before continuing Westbound on the M4.

Each transporter and its load will measure 6.55 metres (22ft) wide, 4.95 m (16ft-03ins) high with an overall length of 41.66 m (137 ft) and gross weight of 60 tonnes.

The two abnormal loads will be travelling from Cotswold Airport, Kemble to Hereford.

Due to the size of these transporters they will be slow moving and will have the potential to create congestion.

Wherever possible disruption will be kept to a minimum but hauliers and motorists are asked to please be patient if they come across this load.

Anyone travelling over this period to catch a flight or meet appointments should allow sufficient additional time.

The public should be aware that there will be an identical move on Saturday 21st February 2015.

Police escorting resources are being provided by volunteer Police Officers on rest days, paid for by the haulier at no cost to the public.
