AN AUCTION in aid of the Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home is to take place on February 28, but lots are still needed.

The event, titled Lots of Lots, will be held at the charity furniture emporium in Tetbury, and will be run by the team at Stroud Auctions.

A target of 700 items has been set for the auction with the hope being that each small piece will raise around £50 each, and each larger piece will raise at least £200.

If this target is reached then the cats and dogs home will have raised enough money to build at least two dog kennels and five cat houses in the planned rescue centre.

Owner and senior auctioneer at Stroud Auctions Nick Bowkett said: “Like so many people locally I am an animal lover, so when I heard about the need for the new home I naturally wanted to help in any way that I could.

“I came up with ‘Lots of Lots’ and the rest of the Stroud Auctions team got right behind it, even the chap who normally looks after the online bidding who doesn’t work for us offered his services for free.”
