LIFESAVERS from the South West are being sought by St John Ambulance for their Everyday Heroes awards 2015.

After a record number of nominations last year, the nation’s leading first aid charity is asking the public to get in touch and tell them about friends, family members, colleagues, and even strangers who have saved lives or championed first aid.

Steve Hargreaves, South West regional director for St John Ambulance, said: "Our Everyday Heroes awards give us a chance to celebrate and honour ordinary people who’ve done extraordinary things.

"We’re looking for anyone that’s gone out of their way to help people through first aid – from life savers, to campaigners, teachers, and fundraisers.

"Every year I am moved by the amazing nominees and their inspiring stories – they are all living proof that first aid can save lives."

This year’s finalists will be invited to an exclusive awards ceremony, hosted by sports presenter Kirsty Gallacher, at the Lancaster London hotel on July 1, 2015.
