POLICE are appealing for information after a man was robbed of a large amount of cash in Tetbury. 

The victim, a 63-year-old man from Tetbury, was walking along Chipping Street to the bank with the takings from a social club on Long Street at around 10am on December 21 when he was pushed from behind by one of the offenders.

As he tried to regain his balance, he was pushed again and fell to the ground. One of two men then grabbed a blue TSB night-safe bag containing a large amount of cash from his pocket. 

The muggers then ran off along Long Street and down an alleyway towards the library and fire station. 

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101 quoting incident number 156 of December 21.
