A BAKING queen in Cirencester has picked up an award for her life-size white chocolate sculpture of Kermit and Tiny Tim from The Muppet Christmas Carol.

Aggy Dadan of Cotswolds Finest Cakes entered her sculpture at an exhibition at Earls Court, London where she placed third in a decorator of the year competition.

She had been asked to design and make a Christmas movie-themed cake.

“We decided Christmas just isn’t Christmas without The Muppet Christmas Carol being on TV,” said Aggy.

“After watching the movie a couple of times a day for a week, much to the delight of our three-year-old daughter, we decided to make a real size Kermit the frog and Tiny Tim.”

Aggy’s models are made out of white chocolate, hand painted and then airbrushed. They took four days to complete.

“First we had to make his skeleton from metal rods and wood. As he is mostly made of modelling chocolate, he does weigh quite a bit more than the real Kermit so he had to be strong,” said Aggy, who works with her fiancé Andrew Pole.

“We were very happy how they turned out.”

After five days of voting, the model came third overall. Kermit and Tiny Tim are now standing in the family’s living room as part of their Christmas decorations.

“The feedback from the public was amazing and we had quite a few selfies posted to our Facebook wall and lots of amazing comments,” added Aggy.
