RESEARCH conducted at the Royal Agricultural University has been labelled as internationally excellent and world leading by the Research Excellence Framework.
The RAU welcomed the results which showed that 10 per cent of its research has been independently accredited as either ‘internationally excellent or world leading’ with much of the remainder categorised as internationally and nationally recognised.
The results recognise the development of the RAU’s international profile and include a debut appearance for the university in the prestigious world leading 4 star category.
RAU Principal Professor Chris Gaskell CBE commented: “The RAU is committed to providing research that is innovative and accessible to the industries that we serve, and our Rural Innovation Centre, opened since the REF was carried out, is driving this agenda for ourselves and the land based industries.
“Enterprise and research are needed to ensure that we can continue to feed ourselves while protecting and improving the environment in which we live.”
