A CIRENCESTER Sixth Form College student has been recognised as having achieved the highest number of points in A level English Language from the summer 2014 cohort across England and Wales.

High flying Katie Charleston, who is aged 18, left the College in June 2014 an A* in her English Language A-level as well as tow other As and a B.

Gaining top grades was made even more amazing by the fact that English Language student Katie completed her A Level in only a year.

A delighted Katie, said: “I am stunned and delighted to be able to celebrate such a wonderful achievement, which truly wouldn’t have been possible without the excellent teaching from John Pitt and the rest of the English lecturers. Their constant guidance, encouragement and support provided me with the skills and confidence to fulfil my potential, even whilst I fast-tracked the subject. My lecturers at Cirencester College were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable, so learning from them was a pleasurable and rewarding experience which I would recommend to anyone.”

Katie is now at Arts University Bournemouth studying the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, and will be continuing her studies at Bournemouth in September on the BA Visual Communication course.

Katie will be picking up her award at a special Awards Ceremony in Cardiff on 18 December.
