FUNDRAISING stalwarts John and Georgina Joyce, of Minety, are to hang up their dancing shoes after raising more than £45,000 over 32 years.

The pair started organising monthly dances in Minety since 1982 but moved the performances to the slightly larger venue of Cricklade Town Hall as it grew in popularity.

Across decades of fundraising the couple have collected thousands of pounds for charities including the local Air Ambulances and Dorothy House Hospice Care; a charity close to the hearts of both John and Georgina, after a close friend benefitted from end of life care that the hospice provides.

John and Georgina’s family thanked them for all their efforts and said that there extremely proud of their amazing achievement.

The final dance is being held on Friday the 12th of December at Cricklade Town Hall and the couple would like to welcome all dancers both past and present to the event.
