THOUSANDS of pounds worth of fireworks were stolen from Preston, near Cirencester, on Sunday night.

Police were called to Preston village at around 8pm on Sunday night after being alerted by an alarm.

Two shipping containers with large padlocks had been broken into and fireworks worth between £1,000 and £2,000 has been stolen.

As well as other fireworks, the owner of the collection posted on Facebook that 31 individual Jorge fountains were taken, which he claims are not available in the south west of England and are relatively new to the UK.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101 quoting incident number 419 of November 2.
