POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched in the face in a Cirencester wine bar.
A 31-year-old man from the town was attacked as he was sitting on a bar stool in the Mad Hatter in Castle Street.
Gloucestershire police have issued the appeal after the incident, which happened at about 1.30am on Sunday, October 5.
The victim was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon for treatment for facial injuries.
Anyone who may have witnessed the assault is asked to contact Gloucestershire police on 101, quoting incident number 56 on October 5.
