A LAND Rover, power tools and a generator were all stolen from the Malmesbury area during a four-day crime-spree.

Thieves cut through a wire fence before breaking into a shed on the outskirts of the town and stealing a generator. In Leigh, a garage door was forced open, a security light disabled and a large quantity of power tools were stolen. Both crimes took place sometime overnight between October 13 and 14.

Vandals forced open a garage door in Chedglow then used a brick and a metal bar to smash the windscreens on two motor vehicles at about 10:25pm on October 14. A brick was also thrown through the window of a house in the village at some point during the same night.

A log was used by an offender to smash a back window of a dwelling in Upper Minety at about 1:30am on October 15. No attempt to enter the property was made.

An intruder who broke into a garage in Crudwell was disturbed by a resident at the property at 10:43pm the following night (October 16). No description of the suspect is currently available, police said.

A barn in Hankerton had its doors forced open but it is not yet known if anything was stolen. The break in was reported the same night but could have occurred anytime since October 2, police said.

Raiders stole a Land Rover Defender from a barn in Little Somerford, sometime overnight between October 16 and 17. The vehicle was later found burnt out near Corsham.

Criminals damaged a fence at the Butts, Crudwell, by climbing it to enter the neighbour's property where a shed door was then forced open but nothing stolen. The incident also occurred sometime overnight between October 16 and 17.
