A NEW project is trying to find people who like to take part in organised walks.

Sarah Clifton-Gould, Cotswold District Council’s healthy communities officer, is setting up a stall at Cirencester market on Monday, October 27 to provide information about some of the great walks in the Cotswolds, and how people can get together to explore them as a group.

Sarah said: “By setting up our stall in Cirencester market on 27 October, we are hoping to collect details of those who would be interested in organised walks, and we will also be keen to hear from volunteers who would like to help with the preparation and planning, and perhaps even lead a group.

“Walking for a few miles around our beautiful district must be one of the most enjoyable forms of exercise. Some people prefer to do this alone but we also know that many residents would be keen to join a Cotswold Walkers group so that they can rely on some guidance and organisation and perhaps even make new friends. ”

Anyone interested who cannot attend the market stall should contact Sarah directly on 01285 623450.
